What a weekend we had at the Canberra Latin Dance Festival. It turned out to be even better than we could have even imagined.

There were international dancers flying through the air, a surprise performance from our world champions, a live salsa band that rocked the social dancing on Saturday night, live batucada drumming that accompanied our Samba finale, performances throughout the weekend that took your breath away, and an incredible feeling of comraderie that left all of the performers and attendees coming into their week on a high. It was unforgettable.

And our Salsabor student and instructor performance teams helped make it that way. They did us more than proud, they were exceptional.

Our Burlesque student team started the Salsabor performances with a sexy burlesque on Friday night. They were smooth, hot to trot and definitely warmed up the temperature in the venue!

fabulous festival

Then our pachanga team, including our director Raquel and her brother Alejandro, hit the stage and had everyone moving to their sweet pachanga moves.

Ben and Eva gave a beautiful Bachata on Saturday night. And Amit and Emily stole the show with their re-enactment of the final Dirty Dancing scene of Baby and Johnny for the Saturday night finale. They then wowed with a soulful Zouk on Sunday.

The surprise twist where Vera and Urial do the final lift from Dirty Dancing.

On Saturday we also had our Zouk performance team and our Bachata ladies shines team, which definitely shone some light on the night.

And then Sunday our salsa performance team burned up the stage with their red hot salsa in their red hot costumes.

As well as performing a few of our teams also gave workshops. Ben and Diala a Bachata workshop, Emit and Emily a Zouk workshop, and Alejandro and Raquel a Pachanga workshop.

Thank you also to all of our Salsabor family that came to support the teams and the event. It means so much to us to have you there. We truly did have the time of our lives and a lot of it comes down to our beautiful community here at Salsabor and around the world.
