Our End of Term Fiestas have been a part of our Salsabor culture since the beginning of time.
They are a celebration of having completed a term of classes, for our students to practice new found moves, to recognise students who have made an outstanding effort, to recognise instructors who have gone above and beyond, and to showcase performances from our students, local groups, and sometimes even interstate performers.

The format of our fiestas are: starting the night with a fun Latin dance class to break the ice and get everyone acquainted, followed by social dancing to Salsa, Bachata, Zouk and Cha cha, student award presentation, performances, and social dancing for the rest of the evening.
Social dancing at the End of Term Fiesta
The heart and soul of our EOTs is bringing people together who share the same passion for Latin dance and culture. The main item on on our program is social dancing. This is one of the top reasons our students love our EOT so much. The moments in social dancing that bring the most joy are when you are connecting with the music and your partner, and leaving any of life’s stresses behind.
Award winners with their instructors
Here’s what a few of our instructors have to say about the Fiesta’s:
Jac: “I love being a part of the end of terms to see how my students have grown, seeing them apply what they have learnt in a social and fun setting.
Watching the chories come to life, having all the hard work from those students and teachers throughout the term pay off.
As an instructor, I believe EOTs are beneficial because dancing in a social setting (involving fellow students, instructors, and other dancers) allows you to practice, learn, and expand your lead and follow techniques. It allows students to apply what they have learnt throughout the term in a safe and fun environment. It gives them the freedom to explore and express what they have learnt in their own way, adding their own flavour- without the limits of a classroom.
Dance is a way to express yourself in any language.”
Deon: “Being only a few times a year, the EOT fiesta is great because it brings all the styles of dance in Salsabor to the same place at the same time. I love seeing everyone that has dipped their toes in dance come along and meet each other creating an amazing vibe that is the Latin dance community. The EOT fiesta is also a great event for students and fellow dancers to be exposed to not only each other but different styles of dance (salsa, bachata, zouk etc) and sub styles (on1, on2, sensual, Dominican etc) and different styles that people lead and follow making for a more fun social dance!”

For those of you interested in where it all began, the first ‘official’ end of term fiesta was held in March 2008 at The Dickson Hall – Majura Hall.
We’ve had many other venues since then, but the recipe has always been the same.
See you all on Saturday for a night full of great vibes, fabulous social dancing and fun!
